Privacy Notice

1. Data Controller
The use of this tool is voluntary and does not require registration. The operator of this website is responsible for the data processing. See the legal notice for contact details.

2. Purpose and Scope of Processing
When uploading a file, the provided JSON export from Polarsteps is processed in order to generate a GPX file. This may include GPS coordinates, place names, and textual descriptions. The uploaded file is stored temporarily on the server for the duration of processing and automatically deleted once the download is ready.

3. Technical Logging
For technical reasons, the IP address and the time of access are temporarily stored when using this tool. These logs help identify technical issues, prevent misuse, and ensure system stability. This data is not merged with other data sources.

4. Web Analytics with Matomo
This website uses the open-source analytics software Matomo, which is hosted on our own server. Matomo does not use cookies and does not store full IP addresses (they are anonymized). The collected information helps us improve the service technically. No data is shared with third parties.

5. Legal Basis
Data processing is based on our legitimate interest in providing a secure, stable, and user-friendly service.
